During the 3 1/2 year ministry, the disciples were to take no provision. After the day of pentecost, they did take provisions. <p>I assume the reason was that during His ministry they were `at home` among Jews who should hospitably receive them. After the crucifixion there was a strong stigma against Jesus so that hospitality was not extended.
