Thanksgiving and praise should be continually offered to the Lord for His goodness, love, mercy and Grace. But David makes a point here of praising and thanking the Lord `among the Heathen`. A heathen is anyone who does not worship the true and living the Lord manifested in Christ Jesus, i.e. an unbeliever.

It is important that we glorify the Lord among unbelievers. Such thanksgiving and praise not only blesses the Lord but it is a testimony to the unbeliever that will draw them to the Lord or, if they persist in unbelief, to the judgment of the Lord in which your testimony will be used against them.
