Jesus clearly states that the systems of the world are evil. Those systems may be functional and provide some carnal value but they are inherently evil because they leave the Lord out of the picture. <p> Trust in anything other than the Lord undermines your trust in the Lord to a greater or lesser extent. This is a hard pill to swallow but it sheds light on why the church is so weak today. We trust in government, science, education, medicine, wealth, etc., rather than the Lord.
