The implication is that when John spoke of the Messiah he told the people that Messiah would do miracles as the prophet Isaiah had foretold Isaiah 35:5,6.<p>When John doubted that Jesus was Messiah, Jesus just pointed to the fulfillment of Isaiah`s prophecy as His proof.
