Our LordJesusChrist does not try our faith Jam 1:13.
It is the enemy, Satan, who tempts, who attacks, who tries to undermine our faith in Christ.

Since faith is necessary to please our Lord, it would be foolish for Him to try to undermine our faith.

Can you imagine having a good relationship with a person who randomly does things to hurt you? No. You would distance yourself from such a person.

In Gen 3:1 we see Eve being tempted by the serpent whose angle was to make her distrust the Lord. His trying her faith to undermine it made the serpent her enemy.

Unfortunately, Eve was naive and did not recognize him as her enemy. Had she had the patience to wait and talk to the Lord about it, things would have been different.

When we stand firm in our faith through an attack on it we manifest patience.

It is clear from context that the ^trying^ in this verse means ^testing^. However it is consistent with the theme of ^faith without works is dead^ to also consider the ^trying^ as the ^exercising^ of your faith. -> The testing of your faith is what Satan does. -> The exercising of your faith is what you do.

Testing results in patience while exercising results in healings, deliverances and victories of all kinds.
