Why does it take a person or a nation to suffer utter collapse before they acknowledge the Lord?<p>Though this verse was fulfilled in the collapse of Israel as a nation of people, it applies to America and the western nations as well.<p>Sin has been a part of every generation of people since Eden.  However, the state of gross wickedness, or abominations, comes only infrequently as a result of prosperity, arrogance, willfullness, perversion, hardened hearts and strong delusion.<p>The LawOfTheLord contains the power to bless adherents and to curse rebels.<p>What happens in rebellion is that the person or nation commits suicide by willfully crashing against the law and order of the Creator.
