Daniel`s heart was broken for his homeland and her fall from the Lord`s favor.  His sincere prayers of repentance and for restoration were honored by a visitation of Gabriel to give him some understanding of what the future looked like for Israel.<p>Though his prayer was earnest, there was to be no salvation for Israel forthcoming.   Even the Lord`s personal visit to earth did not convince them to repent.<p>Daniel`s prayer for Israel portends Paul`s prayer for her in Rom 10:1.
