This is imagery.   Joshua is Jesus who is our HighPriest and He is also the AngelOfTheLord.  He is resisted by Satan during His earthly ministry to no avail.  <p> Jesus was successful fulfilling the will of the HolySpiritFather and is the AuthorAndFinisher of our faith.
