Jerusalem is figuratively the CityOfGod.   The CityOfGod is where He dwells in the hearts of His people.<p>At the end of the GreatTribulation the Beast will issue orders for Christians to be put to death.   This genocide is what will prompt Christ to return to save the elect and to destroy the wicked.
