Who gives him incense? What is incense? It is a substitute for the sweet smell of the HolySpirit.
My guess is that this is an evil angel mocking the Lord and flaunting the unanswered prayers of the saints. He burns the incense and prayers upon an altar of fire such as would be done by pagans worshipping a false god.
