Dan 9:4-19 are the details of a confession of guilt and acknowledgment of the righteousness of the Lord.  It represents a prayer of intercession for Israel as Daniel was a righteous man.<p>Do our intercessory prayers work for those in rebellion against the Lord? -> No.  Only the Truth followed by personal repentance brings salvation.<p>Do our intercessory prayers on behalf of believers work?  Yes.  By the HolySpirit who has made us members of the one BodyOfChrist.<p>Though Jerusalem and the temple were to be rebuilt, the glory of the Lord did not return to Israel until Messiah came.  Once again, Israel would disdain her salvation.<p>Her Saviour and ours rejected her because she rejected Him.   There is no salvation for Israel except through repentance and acceptance of the LordJesusChrist as YHVH in the flesh.
