Governments at all levels are supposed to look after the interests of those who pay their salaries. They were hired to serve the interests of solid, productive citizens.
Any person in government who does not first and foremost serve the interests of the tax-paying citizens is an enemy of the people and should be removed from office.
There are organizations which do charity work. Those who want to do charity work using taxpayer money are thieves.
