Christ Jesus has given us Eternal Life which manifests AbundanLife.
Eternal Life is His Holy Spirit.
When we pray, we fellowship and communicate with His Holy Spirit that is in us.
In that fellowship we are strengthened in our faith, in our hearts, in our minds and in our bodies.
This strength enables us to go forth in the name of Jesus to do the works of Jesus.
To see prayer as something other than this reflects a misunderstanding of the Gospel.
The Word and the Holy Spirit are given to us by our Lord so that we can minister as stewards of His kingdom while He is away physically.
How Christian prayer was turned into some Eastern religion style process by which we simply feel better was obviously a trick of the enemy.
For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much assurance; as you know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. |
Prayer is to prepare.
Jesus never prayed to accomplish a healing or deliverance.
He prayed before He went out so that He was prepared to defeat the enemy whenever and however he manifested.
We do not move God with our prayers.
We move ourselves into awareness of His Word, His will and His power.
When we see prayer as a time for us to build up our most holy faith so that we can go out and destroy the works of the enemy, we are praying as our Lord did and we will begin to do the works that He did.
