I have heard the term Act Of God for a very long time. In those situations where the term is used there is a natural catastrophe of some sort. An example is the destruction of a house due to hurricane winds.
So, God gets blamed for people's houses getting destroyed with associated injuries and death.
Was the hurricane an Act Of God?
Indirectly. God created all things. He is the law giver. He is the life giver.
But God, who is love, does not sit in the Throne Of Majesty pulling strings, making good things and bad things happen.
So, how does everything work? How are we to understand why there is good and evil? The creation is a system involving:
➛ matter,
➛ energy,
➛ laws,
➛ God's will,
➛ Man's Free Will.
So, we see that the component of creation that is of ultimate importance is God's will or His purpose.
Extreme Sovereignty adherents believe that everything which happens is determined by God's will. This is wrong .
What pleasure can be obtained when one totally controls not only the circumstances and events of an activity but also the outcome of that activity?
Since God is omniscient and brilliant with imagination beyond anything we can fathom, why would He not just think rather than materially manifest His creation?
