Education vouchers are needed because of the inefficiency, incompetency, immorality and ineffectiveness of the current public school system.
A voucher system would give the tax money back to the tax payers with school-age children allowing them to choose where to send their child.
Since the voucher is equal value for all students, those who would attend public schools would just turn their voucher in to the public school. The money from those vouchers would be used to support public education facilities.
Those going to private schools would have to subsidize the voucher for the difference in tuition. The voucher income and subsidies would enable the private school to support its facilities.
Options (competition) are ALWAYS a good thing.
The stranglehold on education held by the government has virtually destroyed the youth of our nation academically and culturally such that good talent for the higher paying jobs comes from China, India etc.
We must change the trajectory. Vouchers would enable the change to occur gradually.
If a voucher system is implemented I predict that the public education system would disappear.
➛ all socialist systems increase in cost and decrease in products and services over time
➛ this would result in the value of vouchers rising
➛ this would reduce the subsidy for private school enrollment
➛ this would enable more parents to opt for private schools
➛ this would increase the demand for more private schools
➛ as fewer students attend public schools the value of vouchers would increase (nothing in government shrinks)
➛ more private schools would be built to take advantage of the rising value of vouchers
➛ eventually all students would attend private schools
➛ public schools would cease to exist
A socialist may argue that the high priced vouchers resulting from this model would increase the profits of the private schools.
➛ the income tax system would recoup some of the voucher dollars
➛ since the inefficiency and waste in the public education system is unavoidable the question becomes: Is waste to be preferred over profit?
Once there are no public schools, an analysis of the cost per student (with respect to performance measures) for private school education would be done providing the basis for adjusting the voucher value.
Standardize testing and reporting back to the parents of the students would enable the parent to place their child in the better schools. As the poorer private schools lost students, they would go out of business.
One of the great aspects of this model is that it would enable the best teachers to demand more pay while the weak and incompetent teachers would be released.
Possibly the greatest benefit from the voucher system would be the encouragement of moral character and good citizenship principles in the students ensuring a bright future for our country.
