A workman is only as good as the material he has to work with.
A philosopher is workman whose trade is thinking. Philosophers make assumptions and draw conclusions. That is all that a philosopher can do.
If a philosophers assumptions are false, his conclusions will be false.
Jesus is the Truth. He is God. Jesus came to clear the air of false assumptions and false conclusions about Himself, existence and purpose.
Those who receive Jesus, receive God. Those who receive the Words of Jesus receive Truth.
The contra-positive to this statement is: Those who reject Jesus, reject God. Those who reject the Words of Jesus reject Truth.
The implication is that such people, whether they be rank-and-file people or great philosophers, are lost and confused, making their entire lives vain.
Philosophies and ideologies become crutches to those who are lost. Granted, some crutches are sophisticated, some cripples use wheel chairs, while others have robotics that enable them to navigate. But regardless of the sophistication of their implements they are cripples - they are not whole - they are unable to attain what that would otherwise have.
The real loss to a philosopher and their followers is that they miss out on life. The same One who is Truth is also Life. So, by rejecting Truth, they also reject Life.
Even thought the lost don't find Truth or Life they still seek a way to exist. Regardless of the merits of how they spend their years in physical existence they end up dying and facing the Truth.
Unfortunately facing the Truth after having rejected Him will result in Eternal Death.
So, do not be deceived by philosophers whose pride in their intellect makes it impossible for them to accept the transcendental Truth of Jesus Christ as Mighty God, Creator, Saviour, Lord, King and Righteous Judge.
