God (our Lord Jesus Christ) created mankind for him to be in intimate, personal relationship with Him.
Adam sinned and broke fellowship with God for himself and all of us who were born with the Sin Nature that resulted from Adam's fall from Grace.
Abraham was called to become the father of a seed by which mankind would be reconciled to God.
Jacob valued that birthright passed down from Abraham to Isaac to himself. As we know, Jacob wrangled with his brother Esau and actually deceived his father Isaac to get that birthright.
Jacob was 'one who struggled with God' and that is what Israel means.
Israel became name of the nation of people born of Jacob. But not all of them 'struggled with God' and during periods they actually struggled against God - the people who lived as Children Of Israel.
God's favor upon the nation of Israel was primarily to protect the birthright and secondarily to honor his promise to Abraham (sands of the sea, start of heaven).
The calling of Abraham, the protection of Jacob, and the history of the Children Of Israel served to bring humanity a Saviour and King who would effect the job of reconciliation.
That is the purpose of DNA Israel. They were chosen for that purpose. They fulfilled that purpose and Christ Jesus was born and fulfilled all the prophecies about Him.
Israel rejected Christ Jesus.
Israel was rejected by Christ Jesus
The 'church' replaced DNA Israel. The church is the spiritual body of Christ Jesus composed of all those who receive Him as Mighty God, Savior, Lord and King by absorbing His Word and being filled with His Holy Spirit.
The church has the spiritual DNA of Christ Jesus while Jews are left with the physical DNA of Abraham ( Judah).
The church is spiritual Israel.
Is God finished with physical Israel? Yes, based on their physical DNA. He now concerns Himself with spiritual Israel.
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for you are all one in Christ Jesus. |
I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. |
Draw near to the Lord, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double minded. |
