Extreme Sovereignty has no basis in scripture that is properly understood from the theme set forth in the Old Testament and carried forward in the NewTestament:

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both you and your seed may live:
This verse defines the existential Choice for every person ever born.
Choose God and Live. Reject God and be Destroyed.

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
The Holy Spirit is love and His love is manifest in Christ who made it possible for us to be born of His Holy Spirit and so be In Christ.
But, He gives us the choice between life and death.     When a person receives Christ Jesus they receive Eternal Life.     When a person rejects Christ Jesus they enter into Eternal Death against the Lord`s will.
This verse totally undermines the false doctrine of Extreme Sovereignty.     We do not see all men coming to repentance so the Lord`s will is not done with respect to every human being.

For the Holy Spirit so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Translated from KJV
The Holy Spirit is the eternal, omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent Creator of all things by the Word.
What world is John speaking of?
   ➛ The earth and all the people born into humanity.
The Holy Spirit is love and love is of the Holy Spirit.
The world was created by our Lord and it is good.     We know that man chose rebellion against the Holy Spirit and so humanity became evil.     But the Holy Spirit loves the people of this world and so He birthed Christ Jesus into the world to redeem it and us.
The Gospel is heard and those who are hungry are lead by the Holy Spirit to believe and receive the Truth.
The Truth sets us free from sin, from death and hell and brings us to Eternal Life by the infilling of the Holy Spirit.
Here is understanding:
   ➛ Everlasting Life is Eternal Life
   ➛ Eternal Life is union with the Holy Spirit.

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
The fact that this statement is addressed to the church at Laodicea implies that they have shut Christ out of their operation. It is in fellowship with Christ by His Spirit according to His Word that we sup with Him.
Who is it that stands at the door knocking? He is the Holy Spirit of Christ Jesus.

God has a part - Creator, Saviour, Baptizer.

Man has a part - Acknowledge, Believe, Receive, Manifest

To a staunch Calvinist: So God did not make man in His own image but in the image of a puppet?

That God lied when He told Adam that he Adam had dominion over the whole earth?

That Joshua was just playing along with the deception when he told the people to CHOOSE whom they would serve?

That whosover WILL is a joke?

That is just part of the scam?

Truth: God relinquished some of his sovereignty to man when He gave him FREE WILL - for a space of time.
