The day which the returning King destroys those who have fought against His Kingdom    
The Day Of Wrath is the 2nd action of the Day Of The Lord (the 1st action is the Rapture).   It will be a time of total destruction and obliteration of the rebellious and the works of their hands.   

During that time the saints of all ages will be in the air with Christ Jesus, having been translated and caught up from the earth so as to escape His wrath.   

At the end of the Day Of Wrath, Christ Jesus will set foot on on the Mount of Olives with His translated saints, followed by the Marriage Supper of the Lamb, followed by the rewarding of His saints, followed by the institution of the Millennial Kingdom.   
The Lord at your right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.
On the Day Of The Lord, the trump will sound and the dead in Christ will arise.     Afterwards, we which are alive and remain will be caught up to Him in the air.     

Immediately following our catching away, the Day Of Wrath begins with our Lord destroying the wicked and the works of their hands.

Behold, the day of the Lord comes, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
The Day Of The Lord is one day.     At His Return
   ➛ we will be caught up to meet Him in the air and then
   ➛ the Day Of Wrath will fall on the Earth and its inhabitants.     
   ➛ At the end of the day, the Marriage Supper will be held on earth.

Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the Lord of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.
Again, it is a Day Of Wrath.     This is at the end of the Great Tribulation which is NOT the Wrath Of God.

But the Lord is the true Lord, he is the living Holy Spirit, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.
The Lord Jesus Christ is the only True And Living God because He is the image of His Holy Spirit and the expression of the eternal Word.     

When Jesus returns, He will return in glory and power such as the world has never seen.     

Immediately upon translating us from corruptible to incorruptible into His presence, He will strike the earth with the Word Of His Mouth wreaking annihilation upon the wicked and the works of their hands.

And I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and with a strong arm, even in anger, and in fury, and in great wrath.
