Together with the flesh, they constitute a formidable team, controlling much of human behavior.   

When we think of the word, childesh, we are probably thinking about an emotional, needy individual.   

Parents spend a lot time helping their child grow out of responding completely on emotions and physical needs.   

Their efforts help their children to come to manage their emotions and physical cravings.   But, as we all know, this management is a lifelong struggle.   

The fact is that many believers never move out of the management mode regarding their emotions and physical drives.   

There are so many forces in the world which excite the emotions and physical drives that the struggle often gets harder rather than easier.   

In order to eliminate the struggle we must have our minds renewed so that we have the Mind Of Christ.   This is possible as we grasp and embrace the fact that in the New Birth we are New Spirit beings with our life consisting of spirit.   We are no longer emotional, physical wrecks trying to get along in the world.   Rather, we are now Sons Of The Holy Spirit who are by definition Spirit Beings having a soul while navigating the world in a body.   

This means that we see ourselves as the Lord has recreated us rather than as what we were born in the flesh as.   Unless and until we embrace this fact, we will struggle in the flesh.   

Be aware that the world (unbelievers) are totally driven by their emotions and the lust of their flesh.   This orientation is destructive to each person and to the society that they affect.   Their influence appeals to emotions and lust rather than the spirit.   

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Eph 6:12 The point of this verse is clarity.     Evil is spiritual disease.     Good is spiritual health.     Evil issues from Satan.     Good issues from the Holy Spirit.      We are to see past the physical manifestation of good and evil to the spirit that inspires it.     In so doing, we operate from a position of superiority, enabling us to deal effectively to cast out the evil and to promote the good.      Flesh and blood is needed to impact the people of earth in the Physical Realm.     That is why the Lord made Himself a body and we called Him Jesus whose purpose was to redeem us from our lost state.     Likewise, Satan uses flesh and blood people to do his work in the earth.      Spiritual Wickedness is the foundation for the attacks against our faith and our work for the Kingdom Of God.      That Spiritual Wickedness comes from Satan through His deception of mankind.     Darkness is where Satan rules, using his powers of persuasion to convince men to turn away from the Lord.      When a person rejects Christ they become a Child Of Satan and unknowlingly or willingly become his instrument to steal, kill and destroy.      Flesh and blood are inspired and motivated by the spirit and soul inside it.      The spirit of every person who has not been born again is a Sin Nature.     The soul of every person who has not been Born Again is Carnal Minded.      A Sin Nature spirit and a Carnal Minded soul make for the person a tool of Satan.      Just as our spirit and soul manifests Christ, the unregenerated have spirits and souls manifesting Satan.      We do war against people who are Children Of Satan.

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. Gal 5:16 To walk is actually to live.     The New Spirit being is the real you.     But you must allow the Word Of The Lord to permeate your mind and heart and you must allow the Holy Spirit to empower you in order to manifest as a Son Of The Holy Spirit.      Such a reorientation will result in you becoming Christ Conscious and no longer Sin Conscious which is the secret to victory over lust.

For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that you cannot do the things that you would. Gal 5:17 Flesh and Spirit are incompatible.     We must crucify the flesh in order for the New Spirit to manifest in us.      Paul said that he died daily.     1Co 15:31 So the death of the flesh will never be complete until it is translated from corruptible to incorruptible at the Lord`s appearing.     1Co 15:54

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Rom 8:1 When you are Born Again the Lord sees you as you truly are: a New Spirit being whose soul and body will be redeemed at His appearing.     Eph 4:30 1Jn 3:2 He does not see the sin in our lives because of His blood and His promise of Eternal Life.      If you think there is anything separating you from the Lord you are doubting the Love Of The Lord and His finished work at the cross Rom 8:38,39 Eph 1:6 Start believing in the perfect Love Of The Lord and the power of His blood so that you enjoy an intimate, personal relationship with Him in His Holy Spirit.      Your prayers will be answered.     Joh 16:26,27

For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. Rom 8:5 What does the flesh mind?     performance.      What does the Spirit mind?     relationship.

But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Holy Spirit dwell in you.     Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. Rom 8:9 The Holy Spirit is the Spirit Of Christ.      The Spirit Of Christ is the Holy Spirit Eph 2:18 Eph 4:4 1Co 12:13 Phi 1:27.      We are In Christ which means we are in His Holy Spirit.     It is His Holy Spirit in us and us in His Holy Spirit that makes us His child.      In the KJV the term Spirit Of God and then Spirit Of Christ is used interchangeably.     This means that the Spirit Of God is the Spirit Of Christ and we know that there is only One Spirit Eph 4:4 1Co 12:13 1Co 6:17.

For if you live after the flesh, you shall die: but if you through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, you shall live. Rom 8:13 Serving the flesh is a dead end.     By turning our attention to spiritual matters we will cease to serve the flesh.

Are you so foolish?     having begun in the Spirit, are you now made perfect by the flesh? Gal 3:3 We receive forgivenss and are born of the Word and Spirit by faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.      Legalism is a step backward and downward from Grace.     legalism is a product of the rational mind - the flesh - and it is a denigration of the perfect, finished work of Christ Jesus.

For he that sows to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that sows to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. Gal 6:8 The Spiritual Law of Sowing And Reaping is immutable as are all the Lord`s laws.      On the one hand they effect the Lord`s love and Grace while on the other hand they effect the Lord`s wrath and judgment.      The fruit of the flesh is corruption.     The fruit of the Spirit is Eternal Life and Abundant Life.

For we are the circumcision, which worship the Lord in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. Phi 3:3 The Gospel is about circumcision of the heart - not that of the flesh.     Those who have been circumcised in their hearts are able to worship Christ having been delivered of having confidence in the flesh.

For Christ also has once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us His Holy Spirit, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by His Holy Spirit: 1Pe 3:18 This is true, and the one sacrifice is sufficient for all time for all sin for all humanity.      Jesus did not die just to keep us out of hell - rather He died that we could be reconciled to Himself and filled with His Holy Spirit.      In this verse replace `God` with `HolySpirit` and you will understand the import of the Day of Pentecost.      Furthermore, note that John the Baptist said that Christ Jesus would fill us with the Holy Spirit.     The shed blood was necessary to prepare us for His Holy Spirit.
