We all know how serious the homeless problem is in America. There are approximately 1.6 million homeless people.
We see them on streets, in tents at intersections, under bridges and in parks. Invariably, they ask for handouts, interrupting our busy lives, giving us feelings of guilt and compassion. There also may be a certain amount of crime committed by them.
There were 110 million people receiving welfare benefits in the U.S. in 2012.
There are around 175 million dog and cat pets in the U.S. These Pets get the following from their owners:
➛ a place to live
➛ food
➛ health care
➛ baths
➛ clothes
➛ love
➛ companionship
My recommendation is that Pet owners get rid of their Pets and adopt a homeless person or welfare recipient. The rationale for this is as follows:
➛ it would not be a financial burden on the Pet owners
➛ it would get the homeless off the streets
➛ it would solve all the living requirements for the welfare recipients
➛ it would eliminate the welfare dollars from the federal budget
➛ it would enable tax relief
➛ Pet owners would get real gratification from helping a human being
➛ Pet owners would be able to communicate with their human rather than pretending to communicate with a Pet
➛ the human may actually provide some real value in the relationship like simple chores
➛ the Pet owner would never have to scoop again
➛ the Pets could be used to provide food for Vietnamese and others
