The soul is our consciousness, our mind, will and emotions.   

The mind is what we know and how we process what we know.   

The emotions is how we feel about what we know.   

The will is how we decide to react to what we know and how we feel about.   

And the Lord formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Gen 2:7 Our Creator made man in His image and breathed His breath of life into him.

The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. Psm 19:7 The Gospel is good news.     It is the revelation of the Lord`s love and sacrifice for each of us in taking on our brokenness and enabling us to enter into eternal abundant life.     Those who can get over their selfish pride will be converted.      The Word of the Lord is Truth enabling even the least educated and the weakest among us to become wise.

He restores my soul: he leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name`s sake. Psm 23:3 Blessing of restoration and direction.

Unto you, O Lord, do I lift up my soul. Psm 25:1 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness.     Christ Jesus is our righteousness.

Our soul waits for the Lord: he is our help and our shield. Psm 33:20

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls. Mat 11:29 The yoke of Christ is the Holy Spirit.     When we receive Christ we are born of the Holy Spirit and become New Creatures In Christ.     The Holy Spirit is our teacher and comforter.     It is in Him that we find rest.

For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?     or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Mat 16:26 Jesus is telling them that the things of earth are not worth losing ones` soul over.     Note that He is talking about our mind, will and emotions (soul).     He is talking about our lives on earth.     Eternal Life is in the New Spirit being.     Eternal Life is a gift.     Abundant Life is only experienced through denial of self and acceptance of the Holy Spirit direction.

Jesus said unto him, You shall love the Lord your Lord with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. Mat 22:37 A love relationship with the Holy Spirit is the end all.      We cannot keep this commandment with human love.     Human love fails.     The Love of the Holy Spirit enables us to love selflessly.     Mar 12:30 Luk 10:27 But in order to receive the Holy Spirit and His love, you must receive Christ Jesus who is His express image.

And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 1Co 15:45 The living soul received a dwindling shot of life from the eternal Holy Spirit.      The New Creature is one which has life in itself because it is of the Holy Spirit - the life source.

For the word of the Lord is alive, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Heb 4:12 The Word of the Lord destroys our Sin Nature and makes us a New Spirit being.         ➛ If we stay in the Word it will transform our minds to the Mind Of Christ.         ➛ If we trust the Word it will heal our bodies.         ➛ By the Word and the Holy Spirit we come to have the thoughts and intents of the Lord so purifying our hearts.      The Word became flesh and dwelt among us Joh 1:14.      Jesus is the Incarnate Word.     To love Jesus is to love His Word.     Those who do not love His Word only love the idea of Jesus.     It is how a man might love a woman's body but care nothing for her spirit and soul.

Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which enters into that within the veil; Heb 6:19 So, we are assured by the Lord`s integrity that we are saved.

Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. Jam 1:21 Walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfil the lusts of the flesh.      Soul Salvation is the work of the Holy Spirit bringing revelation of the Word into our hearts producing Heart Faith.      It is preservation of and enhancement of our earthly walk as we mortify the flesh and Walk By Faith.

Seeing you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brothers, see that you love one another with a pure heart fervently: 1Pe 1:22 Being In Christ we are filled with His Holy Spirit who manifests authentic love through us

Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; 1Pe 2:11 We must willfully and purposefully determine to mortify the lusts of the flesh which keep our souls from attaining the Mind Of Christ.

Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers. 3Jn 1:2 Is this just John`s wish or is it the Father`s also?      If just John`s then is he wishing something against the will of the Lord?      No, this is from the heart of the Holy Spirit who loves us and has given us the keys of the kingdom and made us joint heirs with Jesus Christ.
