Sharing the bread and wine as Jesus body and blood
Communion represents oneness with our Lord Jesus Christ.
And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and broke it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
The communion is symbolic of Christ being in us and we being In Christ.     The Holy Spirit ( Christ) is our Saviour and healer.

And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink you all of it;
Oneness with Christ is His goal for us.     It requires us to receive all of Him.

For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
Forgiveness of sins is by His shed blood.

The purpose of Communion is to remember what our Lord accomplished for us in his suffering, death and resurrection.

As we consider His broken body and His shed blood we fellowship with Him in His sufferings being reminded that our Old Man was crucified with Him and our New Spirit rose with Him.

The greatest discernment we can have of the broken body and shed blood is not so much in the suffering but in the victory it represented for us who are no longer condemned but made like Him through His Holy Spirit.

Every meal and every drink should remind us of the LIFE imparted to us by Christ Jesus whose body and blood bought our privilege to be filled with His Holy Spirit.

Ceremony and ritual are not involved in real worship.   Spirit And Truth are.

When you make a ceremony have meaning you separate people from the need for relationship.

Christianity is about an intimate personal relationship with Christ Jesus.   That is the communion.

Only in 1 Gospel does Jesus mention eating and drinking in remembrance of Him.

Communion is not a sacrament, It is a new life in Christ through His Truth ( Word) and His Spirit ( Holy Spirit).   It is in our Oneness with Him that we have communion with Him - not through a ceremony.

Communion definition: "The sharing or exchanging of intimate thoughts and feelings, especially when the exchange is on a mental or spiritual level."

Communion was done by Jesus at the last supper as a symbol of what would transpire IN THEM when they received His Word and His Holy Spirit.

The bread is the Word and the wine is the Holy Spirit.

If a person is into the Word and the Word is in Him and the person is filled with the Holy Spirit there is no more need to RITUALIZE anything.

If a person is not in the Word and Holy Spirit the bread and the wine make no difference in them spiritually.

We have got to get real with Christ and stop being religious about Him.

We worship Him in SPIRIT ( Holy Spirit) and in TRUTH ( Word) by absorbing Him and being absorbed by Him.

Catholicism rejected pure Christianity in favor of symbolism.
Protestantism only took 1 step away from symbolism toward pure Christianity.

The 'gates of hell' HAVE prevailed against symbolic Christianity.
They will be cast down as we are filled with the authority of the Word and the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Apostle Paul was not at the last supper.   His knowledge of what transpired at that event was communicated to him by one or other of the disciples.

It is interesting that the Apostle John did not give an account of the 'communion event' in His Gospel.   Rather, he shares in chapter 17 that oneness with Him is what He desires.
