Melody - A pleasing succession or arrangement of sounds.   

Harmony - A combination of sounds considered pleasing to the ear

Rhythm - The pattern of musical movement through time

Music is sounds combined in such a way as to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion.   

• The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul.   

  Music is an agreeable harmony for the honor of God and the permissible delights of the soul.   

  Where there is devotional music, God is always at hand with His gracious presence.   

  Like all music, the figured bass should have no other end and aim than the glory of God and the recreation of the soul; where this is not kept in mind there is no true music, but only an infernal clamour and ranting.

Praise you the Lord.     Praise the Lord in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. Psm 150:1 We are commanded to praise the Lord.     Why?     Is the Lord needing our support?     Not at all.     We were created with a need for the Lord.     It is in responding to His blessings with praise and thanksgiving that we realize our potential.

Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. Psm 150:2 When we realize that everything we are or have or experience is a gift from the Lord, we automatically lift our hearts, our hands and our voices in praise and glory and honour to Him.

Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Psm 150:3 The Lord created all things and so all things should bring praise to Him.      That which man has made by the creative power of the Lord aught to be used to praise the Lord.      Is a person`s physical talent of man or of the Lord?      is a person`s learned talent of man or of the Lord?      is a musical instrument of man or of the Lord?      is the music that comes from a musical instrument of man or of the Lord?      Every thing that is good proceeds from the Lord.      Everything that is evil proceeds from the enemy.      We are all to praise the Lord with everything that we are and with everything that He has enabled us to make.      For He is worthy of all praise and glory and honour both now and forever.

Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Psm 150:4 Instrumentation is not only permitted it is commanded in praise to our Lord.

Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. Psm 150:5 Apparenly loud sounds are also legitimate in praise to the Lord.

Let every thing that has breath praise the Lord.     Praise you the Lord. Psm 150:6 As long as a person has breath they should praise the Lord.
