The Lust for power and wealth generate many of the ills in society.   

But, in Christ we have access to the power and wealth of God.   So, there is no need to lust for it or strive for it.   It is a free gift.   It is found in Grace which is found in the name of Christ Jesus.   

The fact that Christ rose from the dead validated His power and authority to administer to us the Grace of God.   

Definitions:
   ➛ Power : the rate at which work is performed or energy is converted
   ➛ Work : the amount of energy transferred by a force acting through a distance
   ➛ Force : any influence that causes a free body to undergo a change in speed, a change in direction, or a change in shape
   ➛ Energy : the capacity of a physical system to perform work
   ➛ physical System : the portion of the physical universe chosen for analysis
   ➛ Weak : Lacking the power to perform physically demanding tasks; lacking physical strength and energy

We have to have power to do anything.   Human power is limited.   Machine power is limited.   Intellectual power is limited.   

God`s power is Infinite.   

We are His children.   As a good parent He `genetically` transmits His power to Us.   It comes through spiritual `genes`.   

As a good parent, He wants us to be `independent`, strong, powerful.   

We access His power by faith through His Holy Spirit on the authority of His Word.   

I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. Phi 4:13 Christ means `annointed One`.     The annointing is the presence of the Holy Spirit.      The strength of Christ Jesus is His Holy Spirit.      The disciples were commanded to stay in Jerusalem until they were endued with the power of the Holy Spirit.      We are not limited by our physical assets.      We can deal with any circumstance, overcome any obstacle and accomplish whatsoever we desire Mar 11:24 by power of the Holy Spirit.      The Holy Spirit of Jesus is our power to accomplish His will.

And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. Mat 10:1 Jesus gives us the power of His Holy Spirit for us to heal and deliver by His authority.

Jesus answered and said unto them, You do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of the Holy Spirit. Mat 22:29 Ignorance of the Word coupled with carnal rationalization yields foolishness.

And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, Mar 3:14 Why did Jesus just choose 12?      Could it be that it was a management thing?     Keeping people together is difficult.     Keeping them on the same page is even more difficult.     Yes, Jesus would eventually send out another 70 disciples, so it does appear to be a management thing.

And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils: Mar 3:15 The ordination of the twelve by Jesus was necessary because He had not yet covered their sins, and so, they had not received the Holy Spirit (the ordainer).

And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits; Mar 6:7 Jesus enables the disciples to practice operating in the Holy Spirit before the Holy Spirit was given.     He simply annointed them with His power in which their faith would reside.

And Jesus answering said unto them, Do you not therefore err, because you know not the scriptures, neither the power of the Holy Spirit? Mar 12:24 Ignorance of the scriptures can be fatal.     It always leads to error.

Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. Luk 9:1 By the Word of command Jesus gave the disciples power and authority over devils and disease.     Having commissioned authority is good but having the source of power ( Holy Spirit) in us is better.

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luk 10:19 We have power over the enemy, Satan.

And, behold, I send the promised Holy Spirit Father upon you: but tarry you in the city of Jerusalem, until you be endued with supernatural power. Luk 24:49 Understanding this verse:    ➛ Jesus is giving a command (send)    ➛ A promise is an announcement of potential.         ➛ `my Father` may best be understood as `my generator`.         ➛ The Holy Spirit is the one who generated Jesus.         ➛ Jesus is ordaining His own Spirit to come to us.         ➛ We are to wait for His Holy Spirit to come upon us and fill us before going out in Jesus` name.         ➛ When we are baptized with His Holy Spirit we then have both the authority of Jesus and the power of His Spirit in us.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of the Holy Spirit, even to them that believe on his name: Joh 1:12 The Him in this verse is the Lord Jesus Christ.      Praise the Lord that His love and mercy is extended to `whosoever will` believe and receive Him.         ➛ Our Lord is matchless.         ➛ He is above all and in all who receive Him.     Eph 4:6 To be a Son Of God, which is to be a Son Of The Holy Spirit, is to be Born Again as a New Spirit being whose life issues from the Holy Spirit of Christ Jesus rather than our carnal soul.      His Word in us transforms    ➛ our thoughts    ➛ our words    ➛ our actions while His Holy Spirit in us empowers us to accomplish His will.

But you shall receive power, after that the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and you shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Act 1:8 The Holy Spirit is the Gift Of Christ Jesus Himself.      We are weak in the flesh but by the power of His Holy Spirit we can do all things.     At the top of the list of `all things` is spreading the Gospel of salvation by Grace Through Faith.      Jesus did not say you will receive tongues or gifts.     He said you will receive power to be witnesses unto Him.     Tongues and gifts are for the church which is the Body Of Christ.

And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. Act 4:33 The Holy Spirit is our comforter, our teacher, our helper and our power.      In order for us to effectively witness for Christ we must use His authority Mat 28:19,20 and the power of His Holy Spirit Luk 24:49 working in us and through us.      Because of the fear of death that keeps all unbelievers in bondage Heb 2:15 we ought to make the testimony of Jesus` resurrection our main thrust.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of the Holy Spirit unto salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Rom 1:16 The Gospel of Grace Through Faith In Christ Jesus is the power of the Holy Spirit, who is life, who brings His life into those who hear, believe, receive and do it.      Are you ashamed of the Gospel?      do you share the Gospel regularly?      Are you Spirit Filled?

Now the Lord of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit. Rom 15:13 Our joy and peace come to us `in believing` In Christ Jesus.     We receive according to our faith in Him.      Hope is positive expectations.      We are to abound in hope.      Our Heavenly Father is not only hopeful Himself but He is the fulfiller of our hopes.      Our joy, peace, faith and hope are directly related to the power of the Holy Spirit working in us.     Eph 3:20 To the extent that we walk in the Holy Spirit we experience the spiritual blessings that are provided to us in Heavenly Places.     Eph 1:3 Those who live their lives apart from the Holy Spirit of Christ Jesus have only themselves and mankind in which to hope.      How sad and disapppointing!      It is not in man to direct his own steps.     Jer 10:23 Accordingly, instead of hope, there is a tendency toward hopelessness and expectation of evil.

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of the Holy Spirit. 1Co 1:18 The ones who perish are those who do not have a Love Of The Truth.     Such reject the Truth as foolishness.      Not only do those who reject the Truth face the Lake Of Fire in The Judgment, but they also endure a physical lifetime of bondage, hardships, disappointments, sickness and ultimate death.      We who have a Love Of The Truth understand the power of the Gospel and so are able to appropriate the provisions of the Lord`s Grace including freedom, health and Abundant Life.      It is the preaching of the Gospel that delivers the power to save the one who hears, believes and receives it.     The power is not in Water Baptism but in Jesus Baptism involving His Word and His Holy Spirit.

And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man`s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: 1Co 2:4 The Word Of The Lord does not need embellishment with man`s wisdom but it does need to be accompanied by healings, miracles and exorcisms.

That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of the Holy Spirit. 1Co 2:5 How many people do you know who trust the experts more than they trust the Lord?      Such people are foolish because the wisdom of men is foolishness to the Lord 1Co 3:19.      They are trusting people who are not trustworthy.      We who have faith in the Lord experience the power of His Holy Spirit because He rewards faith Heb 11:6.

For the kingdom of heaven is not in word, but in power. 1Co 4:20 The Word Of The Lord is the framework of the Lord`s will.      The Holy Spirit is the power that effects the Lord`s will.      In order to see results we must operate in faith in the Lord`s Word, expecting that His Holy Spirit will perform it.      Faith in the Word and the Holy Spirit.

And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Eph 1:19 The power of Christ Jesus is His Holy Spirit whom He has given to us Luk 11:13 Joh 15:26 so that we can do His work Phi 4:13.      We are in partnership with our Lord Eph 3:20    ➛ we provide the mind and body Rom 12:1 and    ➛ He provides His Word 1Pe 1:23 and His Spirit 1Co 2:12.      Until we understand this arrangement we will not see the power of our Lord Jesus Christ manifested through us.

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, Eph 3:20 The power that works in us is the Holy Spirit, who is the Gift Of Christ in us.      Our Lord is only able to do these wonderful things by His Holy Spirit in us, while the Holy Spirit in us is effective only to the extent that we submit to Him.      Consider also the following verses: Mar 11:23,24 Mar 9:23 2Co 8:9 Eph 3:8 3Jn 1:2 Joh 14:12 Mar 16:17

Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Eph 6:10 Jesus said without Him we can do nothing Joh 15:5.      But in the power of His Holy Spirit we can do all things Phi 4:13.      Make up your mind to draw from His strength, power and might to face the issues of life and be victorious.      We appropriate the blessings of the Lord by faith in His Word that leads us to speak with His authority backed up by the power of His Holy Spirit.

Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Col 1:11 We are no longer weak.     Rather, we have been given the might and power of Christ Jesus.     Knowing His power is working through us results in us being    ➛ patient    ➛ unperturbured by resistance    ➛ joyful in the knowledge of victory.

For the Lord has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2Ti 1:7 Fear is a spirit.     It comes from the enemy who steals our peace whenever opportunity arises.      Power is a Spirit.     It is the Holy Spirit.      Love is a Spirit.     It is the Holy Spirit.      A Sound Mind is a Spirit.     It is the Holy Spirit.      Power, love and a Sound Mind are given to us by the Holy Spirit in us.      Never submit to fear, but always submit to the Holy Spirit.     Jam 4:7

Be not you therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be you partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of the Holy Spirit; 2Ti 1:8 Do not avoid persecution by suppressing the Testimony Of Jesus Christ.      That is a form of denial of our Lord Mat 10:32,33.      We are compelled to preach the Gospel in the Great Commission Mar 16:15.      You overcome by the Word Of Your Testimony and the blood of the lamb Rev 12:11.      Remember, it is Christ In You that manifests the testimony of Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.      If you don`t exercise the Word Of Your Testimony you may, in fact, not have one.      Draw near to the Lord and He will draw near to you Jam 4:8.      Love the Lord and He will love you more by manifesting Himself to you and through you Pro 8:17 Rev 3:20.      When you exercise your Testimony Of Jesus Christ there will be people who receive it and people who reject it.      Those who receive it will love you for sharing.      Those who reject it will hate you as they hate the Lord Jesus whom they reject.     Such people will persecute you as a defensive mechanism to justify themselves in their rebellion.      Let your Testimony Of Jesus Christ flow out of the Holy Spirit in you.     In so doing, your testimony will be delivered in power and authority by Him.

Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 2Ti 3:5 Jesus said tarry in Jerusalem until you be endued with power from on high.     The power that was received was the Holy Spirit, the Lord Himself.      The Holy Spirit, who is the Lord, is the power of our faith.     To deny the power of the Lord is to deny the Holy Spirit in us who is Christ in us, our only hope.     Col 1:27

According as his divine power has given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that has called us to glory and virtue: 2Pe 1:3 The power of the Lord manifests in and through us to the extent of our knowledge of Him.      - You must know that you are accepted in the beloved Eph 1:6,    ➛ You must know that you are healed by His stripes 1Pe 2:24,    ➛ You must know that He wants you to prosper 3Jn 1:2,    ➛ You must know that the same spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives in you Rom 8:11,    ➛ You must know that you have authority over the enemy Luk 9:1 Jam 4:7,    ➛ You must know that you have the power to bind and to loose Mat 16:19,    ➛ You must know that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you Phi 4:13.      How do you know these things?      You hear, believe, receive and do the word of the Lord.     (see He Be Re Do) Decide that you will have the Mind Of Christ Phi 2:5 and then do what Jesus did to become the instrument of the Lord Jesus 1.     heard the Word Of The Lord Mat 4:4, 2.     believed the Word Of The Lord Luk 4:21, 3.     was baptised with His Holy Spirit Mat 3:16, 4.     Spoke and did the Word Of The Lord Joh 14:10.      It is in following the example of Christ Jesus that we manifest His virtue, His power and His glory.      Who has called us to glory and virtue?         ➛ the Word    ➛ the Holy Spirit The Word is the Gospel of Jesus Christ that informs us.      The Holy Spirit is the one that draws us to Christ.      Believers are to preach the Gospel.     Rev 22:17

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.     Amen. Mat 6:13 Direct our paths so that we avoid evil.         ➛ Who did Jesus reference in the opening to this prayer?     Our Father.         ➛ Who is Jesus` Father?     the Holy Spirit.         ➛ Who raised Jesus from the dead?     the Holy Spirit    ➛ Who gave Jesus all power in heaven and earth?     the Holy Spirit.         ➛ Who made Jesus King Of Kings and Lord Of Lords?     the Holy Spirit.      So, the kingdom is ruled by the Incarnate Word ( Jesus) by the power of hIs Holy Spirit.

But that you may know that the Son Of Man has power on earth to forgive sins, (then says he to the sick of the palsy), Arise, take up your bed, and go unto your house. Mat 9:6 Grace provides for forgiveness, healing and so much more.

But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified the Lord, which had given such power unto men. Mat 9:8 Jeshua is amazing.

And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Mat 28:18 Who gave Jesus this power and authority?      His Holy Spirit Father who had birthed Him, annointed Him and raised Him from the dead is the source of all things and Jesus is His express image.      Remember:    ➛ Jesus is the eternal Word in flesh Joh 1:14 and    ➛ the Word is inseparable from the Holy Spirit Joh 1:1.      If all power in heaven and earth belongs to Christ Jesus there is no power or authority left for any other being in the universe.      This means that He and He alone is    ➛ Mighty God    ➛ Everlasting Father    ➛ Saviour    ➛ Lord    ➛ King Isa 9:6.      This verse speaks to the singleness of God as manifested in Christ Jesus.     In the next verse Jesus tells us to teach and baptize people in His name as He is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

But that you may know that the Son Of Man has power on earth to forgive sins, (he says to the sick of the palsy), Mar 2:10 One is just as easy as the other for the Lord.

And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power. Luk 4:32 The Word of the Lord is powerful.     The Holy Spirit is powerful.     The two together are awesome.

And they were all amazed, and spoke among themselves, saying, What a word is this!     for with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out. Luk 4:36 The authority comes from the Word.     The power comes from the Holy Spirit.     When the Word and the Holy Spirit are exercised, no power can stand against us.

But that you may know that the Son Of Man has power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy), I say unto you, Arise, and take up your couch, and go into your house. Luk 5:24 If Jesus had blasphemed his Holy Spirit, He would not honor His command to heal.

And they were all amazed at the mighty power of the Holy Spirit.     But while they wondered every one at all things which Jesus did, he said unto his disciples, Luk 9:43

And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, You men of Israel, why marvel you at this?     or why look you so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk? Act 3:12 The power of the Lord that manifested in Peter and John was by His Holy Spirit in them.     Their speaking in the name of Jesus released the power into the lame man`s legs.

How the Holy Spirit Father anointed Jesus of Nazareth with Himself and His power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for the Holy Spirit was in him. Act 10:38 The anointing that Jesus had was the unique anointing of the Holy Spirit Father incarnating Himself in the body of Jesus Joh 14:9.      The Holy Spirit was in Him speaking His Words and doing His works Joh 14:10.

In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when you are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, 1Co 5:4 Paul is invoking the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ in what he is about to say.

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of the Holy Spirit, and not of us. 2Co 4:7 The treasure we have is the Holy Spirit.     He it is who wills and enables us to excel.      By virtue of the Holy Spirit in us    ➛ we can do all things Phi 4:13    ➛ we are more than conquerors Rom 8:37    ➛ we are the head and not the tail Deu 28:13    ➛ we are above and not beneath Deu 28:13.      It is not by might nor by power but by the Holy Spirit Zec 4:6 that life exists and we move and have our being Act 17:28.      So, build yourself up in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit Jud 1:20.

By the word of truth, by the power of the Holy Spirit, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, 2Co 6:7 The ministry is effected by the Word Of The Lord and the power of the Holy Spirit and His righteousness working in the minister.

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for you: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.     Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my weakness, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2Co 12:9 Whenever we are reminded of our total dependence on the Lord we are immediately exalted by Him with power to do all things through His Holy Spirit who strengthens us.

Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of the Holy Spirit given unto me by the effectual working of his power. Eph 3:7 When Saul was converted He fully appreciated the new reality that he had glimpsed in Christ`s appearing to him.     He willingly submitted himself to that revelation and upon being Baptised with the Holy Spirit went to Arabia where the Holy Spirit revealed Grace and faith to him.     The Holy Spirit who gave the revelation also empowered Paul to preach the Gospel.

For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much assurance; as you know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. 1Th 1:5 We need to speak with the authority of the Word by the power of the Holy Spirit in order to see results.

Who are kept by the power of the Holy Spirit through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 1Pe 1:5 We have been sealed by the Holy Spirit Eph 1:13 forever and will one day be fully redeemed in soul and body just as our Spirit has already been made new and perfect 1Co 15:53.      Furthermore we are Christ�s workmanship Eph 2:10 and He will complete that which He has started in us Phi 1:6.      In keeping us by His power, He is our provider, protector and preserver.      When He returns we will be like Him for we will see Him as He is 1Jn 3:2.

God is source of all things, the Creator of all things and the consummation of all things.   Of Him, through Him and to Him reveals the sovereignty of Almighty God.   And yet there is more.   He has chosen to live in and work through those who believe.   

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in Us, (Eph 3:20)

The Power that is of Him, through Him and to Him lives in us!   “For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” Phil 2:13

God has chosen to accomplish His purposes through You and Me!   That is why Paul could say; “We then, as workers together with Him…” 2 Cor 6:1

Do You see yourself working with God?   Can You see yourself as an agent of His will, an ambassador of His kingdom and a minister of His purposes?   God has chosen to share His power and purpose with us who have been created in His image by the New Birth.   If we would meditate on that until it comes alive in our hearts, our whole understanding of life would radically change.   

We weren’t created to passively accept the darkness and corruption of the world.   We were created to speak His Word into our circumstances and stand firmly in His provision for us.   We are equipped to submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee!    (James 4:7)

Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil and He lives in us.   Let’s work with Him in accomplishing His purpose of extending the light into the darkness.   

What does this mean?   

Then he answered and spoke unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, says the Lord of hosts. Zec 4:6 In the Creation, The Holy Spirit inspired, the Word Spoke and the Holy Spirit moved to bring what was spoken to pass.     Gen 1:2 The plans of man are vanity and his efforts futile unless they are consistent with the Word and empowered by the Holy Spirit.      In this verse we hear pre-incarnate Jesus who is the Lord Of Hosts referring to the Holy Spirit Father as His Spirit.      What Jesus is telling us is that He has reconciled us to Himself, cleansed us by His blood, justified us by Faith in Him so that we may be filled with His Holy Spirit who is the doer of all that is done.      Those who would discount the Holy Spirit are doomed to live in weakness and poverty.

And this:

It seems that power is a sign that God is involved in man`s doings.   

"The Church " has been busy doing.   Why has it dwindled in effectiveness in our lifetime?   

Answer: We learned to do things without God`s Spirit being involved.   

How will we see hearts changed, bodies healed, relationships restored, captives set free?   

Answer: When we submit to the holy Spirit and begin to flow in Him.   

Jesus is at the right hand of The Majesty.   The Holy Spirit is Christ in us.   He is waiting for us to fellowship with Him, to listen and respond so that His power can change things through us.   

Feed on the Word, be filled with the Spirit and watch His glory manifest through you.   

I Believe we are at a point in time that the holy Spirit is stirring the hearts of Christians around the world to unify under the banner of Christ Jesus, putting aside petty theological differences, to be in one mind and one accord, so that He can fill the house once again.   When this happens we will see an explosion of power to the saving of lives.   

Pray for it, prepare for it, and open the door to it.   His manifestation is imminent - " Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.".
