Title: What is the relationship between prayer and power

There is no verse in the Bible which contains both of the words, prayer and power.

So where does the statement There is power in prayer come from?

You guessed it - Satan.

There is power in prayer sounds good.   It has a nice ring to it.   And it has become very popular.   But it is a lie.

If you want truth go to the Word Of Truth.   After all, Jesus said we should live by it and it should abide in us.

So where does power come from if not prayer?

The Holy Spirit Of Christ Jesus.

Oh, we don't believe in that tongues thing.   We believe in prayer.

We believe that sometimes God answers prayers and sometimes He doesn't.

And the error gets propagated.

Below is the truth from the Word Of Truth.
But truly I am full of power by the Holy Spirit, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.

Then he answered and spoke unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, says the Lord of hosts.
In the Creation, The Holy Spirit inspired, the Word Spoke and the Holy Spirit moved to bring what was spoken to pass.

The plans of man are vanity and his efforts futile unless they are consistent with the Word and empowered by the Holy Spirit.

In this verse we hear pre-incarnate Jesus who is the Lord Of Hosts referring to the Holy Spirit Father as His Spirit.

What Jesus is telling us is that He has reconciled us to Himself, cleansed us by His blood, justified us by Faith in Him so that we may be filled with His Holy Spirit who is the doer of all that is done.

Those who would discount the Holy Spirit are doomed to live in weakness and poverty.

And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
Every victory we achieve results in greater power to achieve more.

Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Holy Spirit; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.
Paul`s sincerity and spiritual integrity provided a base for the power of the Holy Spirit to manifest mighty signs and wonders as he preaced the Gospel in its totality.

And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man`s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
The Word Of The Lord does not need embellishment with man`s wisdom but it does need to be accompanied by healings, miracles and exorcisms.

For the Lord has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Fear is a spirit.     It comes from the enemy who steals our peace whenever opportunity arises.

Power is a Spirit.     It is the Holy Spirit.

Love is a Spirit.     It is the Holy Spirit.

A Sound Mind is a Spirit.     It is the Holy Spirit.

Power, love and a Sound Mind are given to us by the Holy Spirit in us.

Never submit to fear, but always submit to the Holy Spirit.

And, behold, I send the promised Holy Spirit Father upon you: but tarry you in the city of Jerusalem, until you be endued with supernatural power.
Understanding this verse:
Jesus is giving a command (send)
A promise is an announcement of potential.
    `my Father` may best be understood as `my generator`.
The Holy Spirit is the one who generated Jesus.
Jesus is ordaining His own Spirit to come to us.
We are to wait for His Holy Spirit to come upon us and fill us before going out in Jesus` name.
When we are baptized with His Holy Spirit we then have both the authority of Jesus and the power of His Spirit in us.

Just to be perfectly clear the Word is intimately connected with the power of the Holy Spirit.   The Word is the authority whereby the Holy Spirit power is released.

Also, faith is a power based on the Word which releases the power of the Holy Spirit.

And speaking the Word Of Faith is the proof of faith in the Word to release the power of the Holy Spirit.

Now, in defense of the power in prayer camp I will say this - Meditating On The Word and Praying In The Spirit builds up one's faith which is necessary to release the power of the Holy Spirit.

But this is totally different than the concept of repetitive asking and pleading by one or more people to achieve an action from God.   That practice has pagan roots.

Faith which comes by hearing the Word Of God is that which releases the Power Of The Holy Spirit to effect a result.

Our faith is not in prayer but in the Word Of Truth and the Holy Spirit Of Truth.

As Jesus said, we.worship Him in Spirit And Truth.

The Tri Fold Truth of Christ Jesus is the whole Truth and nothing but the Truth.
