At the time the prophets were prophesying, Israel represented the people of God.
Since their rejection of God ( Jesus) the Jews have NOT been the people of God. (How can one argue they are?)
The people of God are those who have received Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior . .
So the prophecies that are yet to be fulfilled regarding Israel apply io the Body Of Christ.
Israel means 'one who strives WITH God'.
The current state of Israel is a secular nation that denies the deity of Christ Jesus.
Paul makes it clear that the true children of Abraham are the children of faith - faith in Christ Jesus . .
Now you can do all the mental gymnastics you like to put God in an unconditional commitment to a people who rejected and continue to reject Him, but that is pure delusion .
