A recipe is usually developed by trial and error. The person developing the recipe has a measure for success which they apply iteratively until the recipe generates their desired result.
Our great God does not have to use the above method in order to do things perfectly and consistently. He is brilliant and wise and powerful beyond our ability to grasp.
He wants us to trust Him. And so He has provided us Truth - about Himself, about us and about His plan for us.
The Truth has been provided in three forms:
➛ Jesus, the Truth
➛ The Word Of Truth
➛ The Spirit Of Truth
Each of us heard about Jesus by word of mouth or by written word. That exposed us to the Truth providing us some information about the Truth. But what we heard or read initially was in by no measure The Whole Truth.
As we heard people teach and preach from the Word Of Truth we became more knowledgeable of the Truth.
As we studied the Word Of Truth we became even more knowledgeable of the Truth.
With our exposure to teachers, preachers and our own reading the Word we heard of inconsistencies and conflicts between them. How does this happen?
So far I have not talked about the Spirit Of Truth. Who or what is this?
Jesus is Truth so the Spirit Of Truth must be the Spirit Of Christ Jesus.
What is the Spirit Of Christ? He is the Holy Spirit who is the Father of Jesus Christ who is the One who spoke through Jesus and who performed healings and miracles through Jesus, who raised Him from the dead.
The Spirit Of Truth is the One who brings revelation knowledge of the Word Of Truth which in turn tells us what Jesus said and did.
For any person to see Christ, the Truth they must have Him revealed to them through the Word Of Truth by the Spirit Of Truth.
An impression of Jesus by someone's testimony of Him opens a window to Truth, while a reading of or exposition of the New Testament opens the door to Truth, but only the Holy Spirit Of Truth transports us into Truth.
The Holy Spirit Of Christ Jesus is NOT optional equipment.
In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank you, O Holy Spirit, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hid these things from the wise and prudent, and have revealed them unto babes: even so, Holy Spirit; for so it seemed good in your sight. I am sure that, as a man, Jesus was disappointed that so many rejected Him, but He refused to dwell on those, focusing rather on the believers. |
And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: |
