Title: What does it mean to be a Son Of God?

Beloved, now are we the sons of the Holy Spirit, and it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
We know that the Creator ( Jesus Christ ) made all living things to produce after its kind .      So, when we think about being a Son Of The Holy Spirit we aught to see ourselves as like our Heavenly Father who manifests Himself in Spirit Soul And Body - the Lord Jesus Christ.

When we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and confess Him as our risen Saviour we are born of the Word and the Holy Spirit as New Spirit beings.

Accordingly, we are now Sons Of The Holy Spirit, even in these mortal bodies.     What glory we will experience in the translation at His appearing!

The `appearing` of Christ has a two-fold meaning.
Jesus will return with every eye seeing Him and with us being translated from corruptible to incorruptible.     We will be gloriously changed into perfection
The spiritual revelation of our identity in Christ is also an appearing of Christ in our psyche.

When we begin to see ourselves as New Spirit beings empowered by the Holy Spirit we become like Christ Jesus.     The Mind Of Christ becomes our mind with the associated manifestation of His power and His authority.     -

With respect to trinitarianism, is this verse saying that we will be three persons in one as we will be like Him?
Of course not.     We are already like Him in form - Spirit Soul And Body - and we shall be like Him in quality when the corruptible puts on incorruption at His appearing and our translation .

When a father has a son, he wants that son to be everything that he is and more.

When a person becomes a Son Of God through the New Birth our Heavenly Father wants that son to be everything that He is but more than He is is impossible.
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.     To him be glory both now and for ever.     Amen.
What is the source of knowledge of Jesus (who is the Truth)?
1) the Word Of The Lord which is Truth
2) the Holy Spirit who is the Spirit Of Truth.

When we spend time meditating on the Word Of The Lord the Holy Spirit reveals more Truth to us which enables us to appropriate more of His Grace Through Faith.

Many believers in Christ have not grown to the knowledge that Jesus is Mighty God - the image of His Holy Spirit who is the eternal, ominipresent, omniscient, omnipotent being we call `God`.

Until that revelation knowledge is in us, there is still a separation between us and `God`.     Realizing that the Holy Spirit in us is `God` in us is critical to the exercising of the Faith Of Christ.

By the Faith Of Christ we are able to do His works.     The fact that we do not see His works being manifested in and through believers is evidence of this fundamental lack of knowledge of Christ Jesus.

Jesus is Lord.

A natural father can be caught and passed by his son because
the son sees the example of his father
    the father gets old
the son can build on his father

With our Heavenly Father we have
    His example in Christ Jesus
    His Word
    His Power
    His Will
    His Time

The Gospels show us what Christ said and did.
The Word Of God is given to us to teach us.
The Holy Spirit is given to us to empower us.
His Will is to give us the Kingdom.
His Time is eternal and He has given us Eternal Life.

So, the ball is in our court to become like Him by receiving His gifts and the potential they hold.

The challenge for us and the reason that we do not see the manifestation of the Sons Of God is proximity.

What do I mean by proximity?

I mean are you About On Or In Christ.   For us to manifest Christ, we must be In Christ.
His Word must be in our minds and hearts
His Holy Spirit must be in us
We must be in His Holy Spirit
His Mind must be in us

This being In Christ is the proper manifestation of a healthy Spiritual Marriage to Christ.   We are no longer two beings but we have become One.

In the New Birth we are seeded with the DNA of Christ Jesus.   But just as is the case of a human DNA-generated embryo, it must grow and develop to become first an infant, then a toddler, then a child, then a teen, then an adult and finally a mature adult.

Now, the New Creature which is a New Spirit being is perfect and complete.   However, it must manifest in our soul before it manifests in and through our bodies.   So, our soul is the immature, restricting aspect of our sonship.

So, though we are New Creatures In Christ who are New Spirit beings who are Sons Of God, that essence of God, which is His Spirit, must be allowed and encouraged to manifest in our soul.

Remember Peter Pan?   He did not want to grow up.   Why?   It is simpler and more fun to be a child.

It is apparent that there are many PeterPanChristians out there.

What natural parent would be happy if one or more of their children FailedToLaunch and just decided to be a dependent child the rest of their life?   No decent parent would.

Neither is our Lord happy when we do not enter in fully to Grace.

"All things for life and godliness" speaks of provision AND expectation.

We revel in the provision as we do when we go to a buffet because we don't HAVE TO eat some of everything on the buffet.   We pick and choose.

However the 'godliness' aspect of that provision is bundled with the expectation of 'godliness'.

Now, I know that fundamentalist believers conjure up thoughts of behavior, language, dress, food, drink, places and other things contributing to their idea of 'holiness'.   But that is a narrow view of godliness.

Godliness means being LIKE God.

Do we envision God as just sitting around abstaining from evil and gloating on His holiness - His being better than all of us?

Or do we see God as
living in and through His creation
upholding all things by the Word Of His Power
partnering with those who allow Him
    building His Kingdom
enjoying life as we enjoy it?
He is not the Lord of the dead, but the Lord of the living: you therefore do greatly err.
And that settles that.

The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
The thief is Satan who is the inspiration for all the evil in the world.
Whereas the `I` is Jesus who offers us Eternal Life and Abundant Life.

This verse is a powerful statement contrasting the nature of the enemy with the nature of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Note that the enemy takes by force what is ours, while we must appropriate by faith what is ours in Christ Jesus.
The appropriation is not a `one and done` thing.     Rather, it is an ongoing process throughout our lives on this earth.

Jesus has given us His life in giving us His Holy Spirit who is in every believer who has asked to be filled.     We aught to invoke His life into every aspect of our walk in the earth.

Truly, truly, I say unto you, He that believes on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
In order to do the works that Jesus did one must Believe On Jesus.     To Believe On Jesus is to believe exactly and only what Jesus just told His disciples in .

This is one of the most ignored things that Jesus said.     Why?     Due to the doctrine of the trinity believers have relegated Jesus to just being Saviour.     So, they believe on Jesus for salvation but defer to 'God' as the real deity.

Disciples follow their master in His footsteps learning from Him and imitating Him.

Jesus is telling us that we are to spread the Gospel, heal the sick, set captives free and make disciples of all men.     Doing so is doing Good Works, Mighty Works.

We can only do this by the power of the Holy Spirit Of Christ Jesus operating in a vessel with the Mind Of Christ Jesus.

What did Jesus mean by 'I go unto my Father'?     Jesus returned to the Spirit Realm ( Heaven) when He ascended where the Holy Spirit Father is most readily experienced.     It is the seat from where The Majesty emanates throughout the universe.

You can see from the above passagess that our Lord wants us to manifest in every respect as He did when He walked this earth.

The Apostle Paul reveals the mystery of all creation in this passage:
To whom the Holy Spirit would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is the Spirit Of Christ in you, imparting a confident expectation of honor, renown and splendor:
The Holy Spirit, by virtue of Christ Jesus, has imparted Himself into believers and thereby brought them into His glory as His sons.

We have the same Spirit in us that raised Christ Jesus from the dead.

All things are possible to him that believes.
