If you believe (in error) that everything that happens is because God wills it, God does it you will understand Revelation one way.
If you believe that Man has dominion over the earth and will until Christ returns you will understand Revelation differently.t
The Great Tribulation is NOT the Wrath Of God. It is the result of man turning to Gross Wickedness which will result in the Day Of Wrath.
Christ Jesus returns to end the Great Tribulation, to save the elect, to resurrect the dead saints, to execute the Day Of Wrath and to begin His Millennial Kingdom reign.
The book is not a plan of God. It is a look into the future. The seals reveal aspects of the future.
Notice that things are revealed and 'turned loose'. In this age of the world man turns loose the power of God or the destruction of Satan.
Man has dominion over the earth until Christ returns.
The men ( Beast, False Prophet, 10 Kings) in charge of the One World Government will be under the control of the Spirit Of Antichrist. Accordingly they will turn loose things that destroy humanity.
Because these men loose the evils of Satan, the angel must loose the evil in the bottomless pit.
The Seventh Seal reveals what will happen at the end of the Great Tribulation.
The thing that must be kept in mind is there are overlapping sequences of events. The sequences have to do with physical occurrences and spiritual occurrences, what happens on earth and what happens in heaven. Chapter 6 of Revelation is an example of an account of events of which are addressed in subsequent chapter in more detail.
Heaven is outside of our timeline. Only the physical creation is controlled by time.
So, in the revelation that John sees from heaven there are all these things visible at the same time. It is not unlike being able to fast forward or rewind a DVD. As some movies contain flashbacks and flash-forwards, so are the sequences in this book.
