Title: Structure and authority in a religious body

Ecclesiastical polity refers to the system of church government and administration, including how authority is structured and exercised within a religious body.   Key types of polity include episcopal, connexional, presbyterian, and congregational, each with different models for leadership and decision-making.   For example, congregational polity gives the local congregation autonomy, while episcopal polity centers on a hierarchy of bishops.    - AI Nowhere in Christ's teaching does He point us to a new religion.   He always points us to Himself.
Come unto me, all you that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Christ Jesus is our redeemer, our Saviour, our healer, our rest, our victory, our resurrection, our life and our future.     He is Mighty God!
We come to Jesus by believing His Words.
We receive His rest when we receive His Holy Spirit.

There is no other name under heaven whereby we may be saved.

All power in heaven and earth belongs to the One giving this invitation.

This loving God is the Righteous Judge.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls.
The yoke of Christ is the Holy Spirit.     When we receive Christ we are born of the Holy Spirit and become New Creatures In Christ.     The Holy Spirit is our teacher and comforter.     It is in Him that we find rest.

For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
The Holy Spirit is never overbearing or burdensome.     He is always pleasant and uplifting.

All that the Holy Spirit Father gives me shall come to me; and him that comes to me I will in no wise cast out.
Who does the Father give to the Son?

The Calvinist believes that the Father unilaterally decides who will be saved.

However, the Holy Spirit Father draws an individual to Jesus.     If the individual responds to the wooing of the Holy Spirit and receives Jesus, the Father gives that person to Christ.

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
Jesus is life and He has the keys of death and hell in His hands.

There is therefore no reason for a disciple to fear anything.

Jesus says unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Holy Spirit Father, but by me.
Jesus introduces the sandwich prayer - praise, petition, praise.

Isn't it interesting that Christians have been praying this prayer for 2000 years and yet most Christians do not know the name of the Holy Spirit Father?

Oh yes, some Christians will give you a litany of names from the Old Testament, especially YHVH, but still refer to Him as God (which is just a title) or Father which is just a role.

When Jesus spoke these words to His disciples He was leading them to a monumental Truth.     They were still trying to understand who this man was.     So, He could not have held on to them if He told them that the name of the Father was Jesus and that the Father was standing before them and speaking to them.

So, Jesus instructs them to pray to the Father and hallow His 'name' without telling them the Father's name.     The disciples like Christians today either assumed the 'name' to be YHWH or Lord or God.

It was only at the end of His ministry, before going to the cross, that Jesus told them who He is, who the Father is and what the Father's name is though He had laid down many hints.      .

We are to refer to the Holy Spirit Father of Christ Jesus using His name which is Jesus.     We are to ask the Holy Spirit Father for what we need using the name of Jesus .

Then said Jesus unto them again, Truly, truly, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
Jesus repeats this very important teaching.     Jesus is the door to the Kingdom Of Heaven.     There is only one door and He is it.

All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
Anyone before or since Christ Jesus who claims to have another Truth about the Holy Spirit and His kingdom is a thief and robber.

I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
We are saved by
    hearing the Gospel
believing that Jesus is Mighty God
believing that Jesus died and arose from the dead
believing that Jesus is Saviour and Lord
receiving His Holy Spirit ( Eternal Life).

In so doing we
become New Spirit beings, one with the Holy Spirit
experience intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit
are made free by the Truth of our Lord`s Grace
begin to operate in His perfect Law Of Liberty
    experience Abundant Life

The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
The thief is Satan who is the inspiration for all the evil in the world.
Whereas the `I` is Jesus who offers us Eternal Life and Abundant Life.

This verse is a powerful statement contrasting the nature of the enemy with the nature of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Note that the enemy takes by force what is ours, while we must appropriate by faith what is ours in Christ Jesus.
The appropriation is not a `one and done` thing.     Rather, it is an ongoing process throughout our lives on this earth.

Jesus has given us His life in giving us His Holy Spirit who is in every believer who has asked to be filled.     We aught to invoke His life into every aspect of our walk in the earth.

I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd gives his life for the sheep.
There is nothing more that our Lord Jesus Christ could have done for us.

He is the undeniable proof of His Holy Spirit Father`s love for us.

Christianity is not a religion, it is a relationship.

As a result of the Catholics' desire to turn Christianity into a religion they set up a framework of structure and authority in which the blessings of Grace are administered by the priesthood and not by Christ Himself.

This is the fundamental error of Catholicism and Ecclesiastical Polity.

If you came to Christ by ritual or form and/or relied on the pronouncement of a pastor or priest to 'receive' you missed the mark that Christ set for each of us.
For whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ shall be saved.
What is the `name of the Lord`?     Jesus.

What does it mean to `call upon the name of the Lord`?     It means to come to the Creator calling Him by His name, Jesus, to plea for salvation.

God is just the generic name for deity.
Calling upon God will not save anyone.

Jesus is the express image of the only true and living God.     It is only in the name, Jesus, that anyone is saved.
Jesus is the name of His Holy Spirit Father.

Understanding this gives real meaning to this important verse which declares the power of salvation in the name of Jesus.

When a person acknowledges that Jesus is Lord by calling on His name, His Holy Spirit performs the work of salvation in the heart of the caller.

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
The fact that this statement is addressed to the church at Laodicea implies that they have shut Christ out of their operation.     It is in fellowship with Christ by His Spirit according to His Word that we sup with Him.

Who is it that stands at the door knocking?     He is the Holy Spirit of Christ Jesus.

As a pastor I am nothing more than a senior Christian, one with experience and knowledge that novices will not have.   My responsibility is the same as that of the evangelist, the teacher, the Gospel singer and the prophet:
And he said unto them, Go you into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
This is the Great Commission.     It is still in force.     We are expected to carry the Gospel to every creature.

Jesus did not expect every person to believe, but He wants us to make sure all nations hear the Gospel as it is a criteria for His return.

It is the Gospel - the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ - that saves, heals, delivers and empowers as it is received into Good Ground.

We are all just sowers.   We do not produce the fruit.
All that comes by the Word taking root in Good Ground that is saturated with the Holy Spirit.
